Mín na Craoibhe is my new full length album, presented together with a beautifully produced bilingual book, bringing the music, the stories and the people behind the songs into one collection.
The physical edition includes the CD inside the book, so when you purchase Mín na Craoibhe, you are getting the complete album along with the accompanying publication. The book, published by Éabhlóid, explores the background and cultural context of the songs in both Irish and English, drawing on conversations with singers and tradition bearers including Brian Danny Minnie Ó Domhnaill, Pádraigín Ní Uallacháin, Lillis Ó Laoire and Cathal Ó Searcaigh.
Produced by Dónal O'Connor, the album brings these songs into a new musical setting, with contributions from some wonderful musicians including Steve Cooney, Conor McCreanor, John McSherry, Francis McIlduff and Paul Meehan, alongside string players from the Ulster Orchestra under the direction of composer Paul Campbell.
The album can also be purchased digitally on Bandcamp if you simply want to download and enjoy the music.
